Backup Your Data without being (redundant)

Backup your research data is highly critical. Disk failure, stolen or lost device are a typical example to do the backup.  To set a backup procedure will be cumbersome for some with limited knowledge. I am using a synchronized software and an Education Google Drive account for this mean. Education version offers unlimited storage compared to the free version. You also can use other cloud services such as One Drive, and Dropbox. I usually worked on a thumb drive, to made me comfortable to work from different computers. At end of the day, I am mirroring my work on thumb drives to a Google Drive Folder in my laptop, and then will be synced to the cloud.

The thumb drives that I am used is SanDisk USB-stick Cruzer Ultra 32 GB  and SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 64 GB. I used this brand in the past, and never failed me. However, a good backup always needed to prevent total data loss.

I used FreeFileSync 8.6 to synchronized the file in the thumb drives to my google drive folder.

The most important are the mirroring setting. I used only update and replace the right side, thus can prevent redundancy. I also have a university account which provides a network storage with 50Gb capacity and it also worked seemingly using  FreeFileSync 8.6.

having an unlimited storage mean you have to consider to chose the correct google drive sync setting. use only selected folder to prevent it syncing all of your data. 

This backup system enable you to have three backup locations, and secure your data properly.

Menghemat pemakaian energi di belanda

Biaya energi di belanda cukup tinggi. Hal ini akan dirasakan khususnya oleh orang indonesia yang sudah lama menikmati subsidi energi di Indonesia. Terutama pada orang yang membayar sendiri biaya energinya (tidak termasuk ke dalam harga sewa). Pengalaman tahun pertama saya di apartement dengan pemanas air dan ruangan berasal dari gas, dan listrik digunakan untuk penerangan dan alat listrik lainnya cukup menarik. kami setiap bulan sudah membayar 107 euro per bulan untuk gas dan listrik, pada akhir tahun kami harus menambah 521 euro untuk kelebihan yang kami gunakan. Dalam satu tahun, dari total 1805 euro yang kami bayar, biaya gas sebesar 1322 euro. di sini kami menggunakan pemanas ruangan berlebihan. pemanas kami set hingga 28 C. sehingga kami mengambil kesimpulan biaya gas sangat mahal.

Kami sudah pernah memakai dua jenis penyedia energi di belanda NUON dan Engie. sepanjang pengalaman kami hampir tidak ada beda antara kedua penyedia tersebut. katanya Engie lebih murah, seperti yang terlampir di tabel di bawah ini

Vacuum Frying Usage on Increasing Food Diversity

ABSTRACT
Indonesia is a tropic country that has high diversifications of kind and taste of fruits. Until
present day there are only some practices that process fruit into value added product. Meanwhile
with small process, fresh fruit can be turned into value added product. According to this
background it’s required to introduce alternative method that can be used to produce value added
food from vegetables and fruits. Frying can be done to produce product that have crispy product
from food that have high moisture content but still have much disadvantages such color
alteration. The new alternative is use vacuum process for frying. Advantages of using vacuum
frying rather than at atmosphere condition include: (1) can reduce oil content in the fried product,
(2) can preserve natural color and flavors and texture of the product due to the low temperature
and oxygen content during the process, and (3) has less adverse effects on oil quality. Package
that suitable to packing chips produced by vacuum fryer are PET 12μm /PE 15μm /Al 7μm /EAA
30μm, and then followed by HDPE 8μm and CPP 25 μm /OPP 10 μm.

Abstract -
Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a metabolic disease, that can be prevented by blood glucose control. Strategy to control blood glucose is food selection. Colored sweet potato and black soybean based snack bar is one of the options. This research aims to seek influence of baking method, fat type, sweetener type and concentration on the snack bar perception. Three baking method was analyzed, LPG oven, pan baking and microwave baking; two fat type was analyzed, margarine and butter; three sweetener was analyzed, inulin, isomalt, and sweetener premix, nine sweetener concentration analyzed 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 g. snack bar produced by microwave has dry and compact texture, rather than LPG oven that produce soft product and pan baking that produce burn product. The fat choice fell to margarine due to the products has no significant different in organoleptic, but had longer shelf life. Snack bar used by premix has the best perception, meanwhile inulin produced hard texture and isomalt produced unstable structure. In order to reach best sweetness intensity and minimum after taste 3 g of premix was used. The best perception for baking method for snack bar was microwave, the best fat type was margarine, and the best sweetener type was premix at 3 g. Bekerja dengan endnote dari mana saja

Endnote merupakan perangkat lunak untuk mengelola referensi yang sangat terkenal. Apabila suka berpindah komputer dalam mengerjakan paper. maka akan sangat sukar untuk memasang endnote lagi dan lagi di komputer lain tersebut. Endnote menyediakan fasilitas online untuk msalah ini. hanya saja dibutuhkan banwith yang kencang, dan waktu untuk melakukan sinkronisasi. resiko duplikasi pun ada. untuk itu Endnote juga memiliki fitur yang jarang digunakan yaitu melakukan instalasi library di flash disk. metode ini sangat mudah apabila baru memulai menggunakan endnote.

Apabila sudah memiliki library di PC, maka seluruh folder My EndNote Library.Data dan juga file .enl dapat dikopi ke folder khusus di flash disk. Hal yang perlu diingat bahwa apabila endnote digunakan untuk menyimpan file pdf dari koleksi paper, maka ukuran library akan menjadi besar. untuk itu dibutuhkan flash disk yang cukup besar dan cukup cepat.

Mozarella sangat cocok untuk taoping pizza atau untuk salad. keju parmesan sangat cocok untuk garnish piza dan spageti.

Persiapan Keberangkatan Ke Wageningen untuk studi lanjut

Wageningen merupakan kota kecil di selatan Belanda. Dengan statusnya sebagai kota kecil, maka ketersediaan barang-barang kebutuhan tidak sebanyak di kota besar seperti Amsterdam maupun Utrecht. meskipun bisa dengan mudah untuk melakukan perjalanan untuk mendapatkan barang barang tersebut. Barang barang kebutuhan umum di Indonesia, seringkali tidak ada di Belanda, ataupun ada dengan harga yang mahal. di sini akan disedikan daftar barang barang yang sebaiknya dibawa dari Indonesia.

dengan membeli guling poliester yang dapat divacuum, maka gling menjadi sangat mudah dibawa. guling sangat sukar ditemui di belanda. saya pernah melihat ada yang jual, tetapi sangat mahal. jangan lupa beli cover dan juga inner covernya.

1. Introduction

The Programme was launched in 1413H (1992), named ‘The IDB Merit Scholarship Programme for High Technology' (MSP).

2. Objective and Scope

The objective of the programme is to develop technically qualified human resources in the IDB member countries by providing scholarships to promising and outstanding scholars and researchers to undertake advanced studies and research in the fields of applied science and technology needed for the development of the member countries.

The Programme is designed to help promising research students to pursue a full-time three-year Ph.D study in scientific disciplines that enhance development in IDB member countries, with priority to Health/Medicine, Agriculture/Food Production, Water Resources/Desertification, Energy/Infrastructure Development, Nanotechnology and ICT for Development.

The Programme is also designed to help researchers to undertake a six-twelve month specific innovative post-doctoral research project to address a problem-solving matter in member countries such as Malaria, Corona, Ebola, Food production, Water Resources/Desertification, Energy, etc.

3. Concept

The concept is to assist the needs of the IDB member countries and their institutions in developing high quality and hi-tech human resources in science and technology areas that they are lacking but crucial for their development.

4. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must meet the following basic criteria:

• Age not over (a) 35 years for Ph.D. study, and (b) 40 years for Post-Doctoral research;
• Attached to a research/academic/development institution in science and technology in their respective country;
• Must possess the required academic background in the related field of their proposed study/research and have some professional/research experience in the respective field;
• Demonstrate that the research proposal has scientific and technological relevance with the objective of meeting the priority development needs of the country;
• Have good command of the language of the institution of study and the ability to conduct scientific work in it.

5. Fields of Study

For PhD programme, fields of studies under the programme are determined by the priority needs of the country’s development in science and technology sectors and to supplement the IDB vision 1440H.  Current focus is thus on the following fields of studies:

Health/medicine, Agriculture/Food production, Water Resources/ Desertification, Energy/Infrastructure Development, Nanotechnology, Development-focused ICT, and pure Science subjects. 

Applications for post-doctoral research are invited to undertake a specific innovative project to address a problem-solving matter in member countries such as Malaria, Corona, Ebola, Food production, Water Resources/Desertification, Energy. This is to focus on most crucial development areas of IDB member countries in addition to what it was highlighted in the IDB Vision 1440H.

6. Place of Study

The successful candidate for the PhD programme must secure admission at one of the universities listed in the Times Higher Education Supplement (THES). Please visit the THES website: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/world-university-rankings. Priority shall be given to those Ph.D. applicants who have secured admission at universities that have concluded a cooperation agreement with the IDB such as University of Cambridge, University of Nottingham, University College London and Imperial College London in the UK, Princeton University in USA and KAUST in Saudi Arabia.

The successful candidates for Post-doctoral research are invited to undertake their research project at Research Centres of Excellence which have the facilities and equipment to undertake cutting-edge research projects, both in IDB member countries as well as in advanced countries.

7. Benefits

The scholarship covers the following benefits and entitlements:

8. Annual time-table

The Programme is announced every year through the IDB Governors' Offices in the countries concerned.

9. How to apply

Download the application form for 3-Year Ph.D. Study or application form for Post-Doctoral Research.  The applications must be submitted through the nominating institutions to the Office of the IDB Governor for the country. It is the Office of the IDB Governor that will forward the applications to the IDB and not the individual applicants or the nominating institutions.  As for Egypt, applications should be forwarded through the Higher Universities Council, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, instead of Office of the IDB Governor. Applications sent directly to the IDB will not be considered.

10. Selection procedure

All the applications submitted to the IDB Governor's Office are to go through the following process:

1. Screening by the IDB Governor's Office to forward to IDB the most eligible applications;
2. In-house review at the IDB;
3. Scientific and technical evaluation of eligible applications by a panel of external reviewers composed of scientists and experts in their fields.
4. Final selection by the IDB.

11. Obligations of the Partners

1. CandidatesCandidates awarded the scholarship must:
   1. Sign the Surety Bond stating their commitments to studies, to return to their countries upon completion and resume work in their home institutions;
   2. Devote themselves to their studies on a full-time continuous basis and provide the IDB with periodic reports on their academic
   3. Not seek or accept other scholarship or remunerated work during their studies, unless agreed to in writing by the IDB;
   4. Respect the laws of the country of study while maintaining good personal and professional conducts consistent with the objectives, rules & regulations of the programme and the overall mission of the IDB as an Islamic institution.
   5. To register with the Science Development Network (SDN) for continuous scientific/professional activities under the patronage of IDB.
2. Nominating InstitutionsAs a partner in the joint effort with the IDB, the institutions nominating candidates are expected to:
   1. Nominate suitable candidates, assist them in all aspects of the documentation preparation and in securing the necessary endorsement from the Office of the IDB Governor for the country.
   2. Assist the selected scholars in preparation of their departure for study and place them on study-leave maintaining their pay-roll status.
   3. Help resettle them and support them in their research and equipment needs, on their return to the institution.
3. Offices of the IDB GovernorsAs the channel of announcement and initial processing of the applications, the Offices of the IDB Governors are expected to:
   1. Announce the Programme as widely as possible among the scientific and research communities in the country;
   2. Disseminate information and application forms to all relevant scientific and research institutions and interested scholars in the country;
   3. Screen and pre-process applications to ensure eligibility and completion of documentation against requirements;
   4. Pre-select and submit to the IDB only those who are most qualified and in the proposed fields of study that are most needed for the development of the country.

12. Community Development Support

To help scholars prepare themselves for their future leading role in the socio-economic and technological development of their societies and countries, the IDB also provides them with extra-curricular activities under a special programme called Community Development Programme (CDP) comprising the following two components:

• Post Study Activities (PSA): Since the graduates are the keys to the delivery of IDB objectives of socio-economic and technological development of their societies and countries, IDB supports them with a range of activities including formation of IDB Graduates’ Associations and monitoring their contribution to their society, institution and country. The Scholars are facilitated to enlist their names as consultants/experts for various capacity building and knowledge transfer programmes in IDB member countries under the IDB Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP).
• Capacity Building Activities (CBA): The graduates are eligible to participate in regional Community Development Workshops that are held in different countries as part of the Capacity Building Activities for partners of the IDB Special Assistance and Scholarship Programmes.

The day-to-day implementation of the Programme is undertaken by the IDB Scholarship Division under the guidance and supervision of the IDB Management.
